This week I had the joy of being at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Buckhead, Georgia, for a 7Women event. But I got to talk about all kinds of things — and you can watch it all right here! At the booksigning, so many told me how much they were enjoying my radio program! Speaking of which, here are highlights from this week’s show! Please spread the word as you are able!
This week on The Eric Metaxas Show:
Eric kicked off the week with Miracle Monday! Actress April Hernandez Castillo, the subject of two stories in Eric’s book MIRACLES, shared a story from her Bronx, NY childhood, in which her life was miraculously saved. Then Eric spoke to TV/film executive and producer Terry Botwick, who as an executive at CBS spent a fair amount of time with Donald Trump! Terry is the producer of the new film Captive, and told us the astonishing true story that inspired the film.
The tenth Planned Parenthood video was released on Tuesday, and Tuesday’s show was literally about the issues of life and death. Yale-trained cardiologist Chauncey Crandall discussed evidence of life after death, which is the topic of his book, Touching Heaven. Then Abby Johnson came on to talk with Eric about being the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic, and how seeing an abortion one day changed her forever.
On Wednesday, Eric welcomed the inimitable John Zmirak for a discussion about a range of topics, and then Fox’s Red Eye host Tom Shillue joined Eric to talk about almost everything — from what it’s like to be the only person in a “normal Catholic family” who wants to do stand-up comedy, to understanding the appeal of Donald Trump.
Things took a literary slant on Thursday. Former Meet the Press host and NBC White House correspondent David Gregory spoke about his new book, How’s Your Faith? An Unlikely Spiritual Journey, which was inspired by a question posed to him by former President George W. Bush. Then Joel Miller came on to talk about the amazing life of Maria Skobtsova, otherwise known as St. Maria of Paris, who is featured in Eric’s 7WOMEN book.
On Friday, Eric welcomed Michael D’Antonio, author of the HUUUUGE new book Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success. The book is no quick-hit biography, but rather the result of a three-year effort that included talking to everyone in Trump’s family, and to the Donald himself. Then John Thavis, the New York Times bestselling author of The Vatican Diaries, discussed his latest book, The Vatican Prophecies, a fascinating look at how the Vatican investigates claims of miraculous events. Thavis has thirty years’ experience covering the Vatican as a journalist and sheds light on the little-known process of verifying the miraculous, revealing deep internal debates on the power of religious relics, private revelations, exorcisms, and more.
