Below are the podcasts from this week’s show. My guests included GOP presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, the great-grandson of Winston Churchill, leadership expert John Maxwell, and KORN guitarist Brian “Head” Welch.
This week on The Eric Metaxas Show:
The week kicked off with a conversation with Brad Lomenick, bestselling author of the book H3 Leadership. Brad explained the key ingredients of successful leadership: Be humble. Stay hungry. Always hustle.
Eric then pulled out his British accent for the show’s second hour with his dear friend Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of the wildly popular Jesus Story Book Bible. Sally talked to Eric about her new book, The Story of God’s Love.
Dr. Jeff Myers of Summit Ministries started Tuesday’s show talking about the importance of world view and how his newest book, Understanding the Times, helps equip Christians to better articulate their beliefs.
Sir Winston Churchill’s great-grandson, Jonathan Sandys, came onto the show with author Wallace Henley, and they talked with Eric about the role that faith played in Churchill’s life—the topic of their new book, God and Churchill.
On Wednesday — with news of liquid water on Mars — scientist and author Hugh Ross came back for another fascinating hour with Eric discussing the origins of life, Noah’s ark, and his latest book, A Matter of Days.
Eric then welcomed his friend Brian Head Welch, nu-metal rock star and guitarist for KORN, for a truly remarkable conversation about Brian’s journey toward God, then away from the band and back again. Be prepared for some refreshing surprises in Brian’s story!
On Thursday, Ben Carson chatted with Eric about a range of topics, including his inspiring journey from being a violently angry kid in Detroit to becoming a top neurosurgeon, and now being a presidential candidate. Plus his thoughts on political correctness and the Ivy League professor who used a racial slur against him.
In hour two, Eric returned to the topic of leadership with John Maxwell, who in 2014 was ranked #1 by Inc. magazine as the most influential leadership expert in the world. Maxwell talked about going beyond merely having good intentions as well as other concepts outlined in his book, Intentional Living.
Eric concluded the week with a conversation with Mollie Hemingway, journalist and Senior Editor of The Federalist, about the Pope’s views on sexuality and the media’s ongoing difficulty with faith issues.
